Introducing AnyVault (Beta)

July 22nd, 2010 admin Comments off

Many existing traditional enterprise backup software can easily cost US$ 1,000 for a single server – and this may not have included expensive and necessary professional service related. Those traditional on-premise software solutions are powerful, and also usually complicated and expensive, and not easily accessible nor affordable by many small to mid-sized businesses.

The problems for those traditional on-premise software offerings have been more and more obvious especially when the cloud-computing campaign moves faster and more forcefully. A good example of cloud-computing, or more precisely, cloud-backup, is Dropbox. Dropbox makes it very easy to "drop" some files in a special foder generated by the service and keep it synced among several computers and  also share with anyone. It's a totally cloud-based service and with a good level of ease of use and a very low cost level. Seems a good alternate solution for enterprise customers? The answer might be no for many businesses.

How do you drop a Exchange Server database into Dropbox folder to backup? And what about SQL Server, Oracle? And what about OS backup and restore? Don't have those databases or you don't need to backup OS? Then, how about backup 1 TB of data to Dropbox? …. The question list can go very very long if you're familiar with most of the key benefits of traditional backup solutions.

So, the enterprise users need something that has a good balance. And this is what we're working hard on at the AnyVault team.

AnyVault is designed to be a service that combines most key benefits of both on-premise solutions and cloud-based solutions. Have a quick look at the following embedded slideshow  to have a quick glance. More news are coming in.

2009 for Eisoo and Happy New Year!

December 31st, 2009 Aric Wen Comments off
In less than 1 hour, the year 2009 will become history. I think it will be the last-minute opportunity to share our view back on the growth of Eisoo.

The top product for 2009 is Eisoo AnyBackup 2.1. AnyBackup 2.1  is an ideal centralized disk-based backup software for small and medium businesses. We have focused on enhancing product stability and fine-tuning the documentations. The feedbacks from end users in Hong Kong and mainland China were quite positive.

In the second half of 2009, until now, we were spending lots of our time preparing new product releases. AnyBackup 3.0, with Continuous Data Protection (CDP), Virtual Media Pool (VMP), and lots of new features and bug fixes, has taken a great portion of our time. For months we have been busy testing the latest builds and preparing lots of documentation. Most of the work for AnyBackup 3.0 is about to be finished and we expect a stable public release in next few weeks. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our partners that have been participated in the beta testing.

We have also spent lots of time preparing other important products that will also be released in January 2010.

Firstly, it was AnyLive 3.1. AnyLive 3.1  is a backup software for single server or PC/laptop. The server edition will come with support for Windows file server, Exchange Server and SQL Server. The server edition is expected to be bundled with Dell servers and directly sold by Dell in 2010, just like the AnyBackup.

And we were also very excited to work with Dell for a new all-in-one storage and backup device that will be called Dell PowerBackup Solution Storage and Backup Appliance. It will be an appliance that combines Dell hardwares and Eisoo backup software and storage system. Backup features for the appliance are mostly the same with AnyBackup 3.0. Storage feature includes iSCSI, online RAID expansion and many others. More details will come.

There also many achievements in AnyVault, the cloud backup platform. Beta releases will come next few months. We are also going to share more insights into the innovative solution.

Many many thanks to all of our partners and colleagues that helped make our backup solutions better in 2009. 2010 will be a more exciting year when most of the products graduate from the lab. Stay tuned and Happy New Year!
